Join us for an exciting and educational class on snake safety and conservation, suitable for both kids and adults! Pre-purchased tickets are required to attend this experience! In this interactive class, you’ll have the unique opportunity to learn about these incredible creatures, their importance in our ecosystem, and how to coexist with them safely. Rick O’Connor, a Florida Sea Grant Extension Agent from Florida Sea Grant / University of Florida IFAS Extension, will guide you through a captivating journey, sharing fascinating facts, dispelling myths, and providing valuable insights into snake behavior and conservation efforts. NBSTCC is proud to collaborate and partner with Rick O’Connor and Florida Sea Grant / University of Florida IFAS Extension Office to offer this awesome education class. During the class, you’ll get up close and personal with live snakes, observing their unique features and learning to appreciate their beauty.  Rick, an experienced handler, will introduce you to a variety of snake species, showcasing their diversity and highlighting their vital role in maintaining a balanced ecosystem. Not only will you gain a deeper understanding of snakes, but you’ll also learn essential safety tips to ensure peaceful coexistence with these remarkable creatures. Discover how to identify venomous and non-venomous snakes, understand their behavior, and practice responsible actions when encountering them in the wild.
