Don’t Miss These Spring Events
Ah, spring time in Navarre Beach. You can do absolutely nothing during your stay and still have a wonderful time. But let us recommend a few key events that will add some active relaxation to your experience.
Terrain Racing at Adventures Unlimited
Gather with friends for a wild race over 20 obstacles and through mud at Santa Rosa County’s premier recreational facility. Choose from four different 5K race packages (including the Mini Monkey for kids aged 2 to 10). Saturday, April 7.
The Scratch Ankle Festival
This fun family gathering, which celebrates Milton’s founder’s day, was first held in 1971. Expect music, games, food and history. It’s held on Willing Street along the banks of the Blackwater River in downtown Milton. Friday, April 13.

Bands on the Blackwater
Bring a lawn chair or pull up your boat for this weekly free concert series held at the edge of the Blackwater River in downtown Milton. The Spring series takes place every Friday from April 13 to June 26. Bands run the gamut from country (Chloe Channell, April 13) to rockabilly (Modern Eldorados, May 18) to a Steve Miller tribute band (Swing Town, May 25).

Warrior Challenge Red Canyon Mud Run
This 5K slog fest takes place at the Santa Rosa County Fairgrounds, five miles east of downtown Milton. Contests will encounter mud, man-made and natural obstacles, mud, crawling, jumping, and … mud. Spectators are welcome. Enjoy a DJ and a food-and-beverage tent. Saturday, April 28.
Blackwater Glow Run
This sunset 5K race through the Milton riverwalk and historic district starts at 8 p.m. Make sure to hit the awards ceremony and after-glow party starting at 9. Saturday, April 28.

Navarre Sunset Stampede
The largest race held in Navarre Beach/Santa Rosa County, this 5K is on a fast, flat, out-and-back course along beautiful White Sands Boulevard. Don’t miss the awards ceremony and after-party at Juana’s Pagodas, with live music, food and drink right on the beach. Saturday, May 5.
Tunes by the Dunes
The Sand Crab Pavilion in Navarre Beach Park holds this sunset concert series that features local musicians playing country, southern rock, reggae, jazz and more. Beach blankets, lawn chairs and coolers (no glass) are welcome, but please leave the pets at home. The series starts on May 31 and runs every Thursday through August 30. Admission is free, donations encouraged.
Glow-in-the-Dark Volleyball Tournament
Bulldog Beach next to the Navarre Pier (and Windjammers), the area’s prime location for beach volleyball, hosts this nighttime tournament of 4-person teams. Sunday, June 10.
