Each year on the first weekend in March the Gulf Coast Renaissance Fair & Pirate Festival is celebrated as a fun and learning experience of the middle ages. It is a time when young and old dress up as renaissance characters (not required) and head out for an exciting weekend full of history, music, food, arts, crafts and games. Five stages of constant live entertainment featuring live shows, medieval games of skill, historic learning demonstrations and streets scattered with medieval characters. The Trash Bash is held the last Saturday of each month, join us and help remove marine debris to protect sea turtles, like Sweet Pea, and other imperiled species from human activity!This is a Citizen Science Program that allows volunteers from all walks of life to participate and take an active role in the war against marine debris. Volunteers collect trash from different areas along the 4.5 miles of Navarre Beach and record data that is forwarded to state and federal agencies. Meet in the main Navarre Beach Parking Lot near the Sand Crab Pavilion. Limited supplies of gloves, buckets and pickers are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
